New Forum....
Sorry, I was trying to update the old forum and it crashed. I was not able to recover the old messages.
This new forum is kinda cool, it has a calendar, and is easier to manage in certain ways. I did copy all of the old calendar events to this one.

A few tips and pointers...
After entering an event in the forum, you can, at the bottom of the screen (you'll need to scroll), add the event to the Calendar.
All member and officers have full calendar rights.
Please make sure your real name is used for your account. You can have a moniker if desired. Some folks have listed a moniker as a their username. It's makes it hard for users to guess who you are. You can change this under profile.

Tweaked a little more. New logos on forum, turned on smileys in forum , and fiddled with the main page, changing background and updated some events. Enjoy. Let me know if anything is wrong or broke.

You can also right click on any picture and then choose "Save As" to save it onto your computer. Works for almost any site you visit, as well as any .pdf files you can choose from an on-line site.

I've changed the policy regarding admission to the website. Previously, you needed to register and respond to an email to have posting rights.
There were a couple problems with that; Anyone could post, whether they wanted to join or not. Also one day two or three folks joined in rapid order and it wasn't obvious that that had joined, so I may have missed a greeting meesage that I like to send.
It's now set so that anyone can read all messages, except for the Members only section. If you want to register the admin needs to approve the account. This way I can send a welcoming message and make an effort to ensure that they come to the meetings and end up as a member along the way. It also keeps out folks who think this is just another BBS. So far we've had no abuse by ne'er do wells, and this action will ensure that it won't happen ever, I hope.
ALSO, I've made Brenda Ison and Ron Francis moderators. They have access to delete comments, merge messages, etc. Both are officers and are experienced users of the board, so I felt that they could whack innapropriate messages if needed. So far, this has never been needed, but still, they can do it if needed,

I am working on a Gallery so everyone can upload images, have their own gallerys, etc. It's tied to the forum and has a common logon. I' m having one remaining issue having to do with permissions. I hope to have that one figured out by Sunday night. Until then my dance card is filled every day.

I was asked by a member if I could change the order of the messages so that the newest messages would be first.
My answer is, "Heck no, do it yourself."
It's an individual Profile Option.
You can go to your PROFILE setting (on the menu bar above) and click it. Click on LOOK AND LAYOUT PREFERENCES, where there in option to change the order. Click on the picture below for screen shot.
To each his or her own!

I've added a member map. Let people know how spread out we are.
Hint. You can zoom in and pin at house level. Do no do this. Get city close but tag a nearby intersection or a few streets over as to not make yourself vulnerable.
It's on the main menu, above.

Thanks, Dave for the tip and the map. I have a question, how does one, in a town the size of Fredericktown, place a pin a couple of blocks away without looking like I live in the middle of a cornfield?
