I got this off of the national furum. I'v looked it over and signed the online petition. I feel the this is a great way to support the Gold Star Families. I urge everyone to take a look at the site, do what you feel is right for you, and email the address to everyone in your address book. While your are there take a look at page 124 under supporters.

Having had the privilege of participating in the Gold Star (VIP) Escort at Rolling Thunder in 2007, I was impressed by the new flag presented by this group recently, and their mission. http://www.honorandremember.org/. There have been 1.6 milion American people killed in service to their country, since the Founding, according to this group. Honor and Remember wants 1.6 million to sign their petition to get the new flag designated a national symbol, as is the POW/MIA flag. They also want to present a flag to the families or decendants of all 1.6 million service people, as Gold Star Families. What an ambitious undertaking!
I think it's a good cause, and as STAR Vet Rep, I'm bringing the petition to my Chapter. Look it over, and do what you feel you should do.
