Anyone up for a trip to Lake Placid, NY? Yes, my trip to Deals gap is still on but I have some vacation time I need to use up and now it's time to ride! Planning to leave Mt. Vernon on the morning of Sunday, 9/12 and return the afternoon/evening of Friday, 9/17. Destinations include Lake Placid and Woodstock. Depending on what hurricane Earl does to the weather on the east coast, these plans may be completely scrubbed and we would then head somewhere without rain. Guess I need to point out this is a boys ride only...ouch...sorry ladies. Looking for a few good men! Also, check out my Deals Gap post. That trip leaves on Tuesday, 9/28 through Friday, 10/1.Mike |

Well August is almost over and September is a couple of days away.
Our meeting will be at normal time (9:30am) and because this is a holiday weekend I wanted to make sure that our ride and lunch stop was not an all day event, so that folks to get back home in time for family cookouts or other activities. The ride I have planned is going to Jimbo's for a burger and try to be there around 11:00, this will also get us in before a big lunch crowd. Once we are done, since we came down the west side (back roads) of 33 we will go little farther south and cross over 33 and head back up (back roads) the east side of 33 back to LSC around arrive around 3:30 or so. Theice cream stop is still to be determined. Hope to see you all this Saturday. |

O'Hickey Tipp of the Mitt gathering / Sept 10,11,12th , 2010 since this is the 9th anniversary, were calling it the " almost 10th anniversary Tipp"
Here we go again, It's hard to believe it's been 9 years throwing this shin dig for the Star Family and I have been getting calls and emails on info for this bash in 1 month along with many people asking all summer long is this going to happen again this year. The answer is Yep party is on. So here's the dates Sept 9,10,11, and 12th. This event started out with 3 stars in year one, and has had as many as 200 stars attend for the weekend. Free camping , bathroom facilities, Thursday night 9th get together at Cydes Place down the road, Friday night bar-b-q , Blues singer coming in friday night , Saturday ride, and this year will feature a fried chicken kettle boil for dinner, DJ , lights, bonfires, all invited. There is room for RV's and power hook ups , lots of camping space and some extra beds in the cabins or house upstairs. I'll supply a list of cabins / motel units on the lake later today that have space available. Total cost for the weekend is $45.00 per person, that covers everything. If you come saturday night only it's half that cost, this event isn't about making any money just breaking even and celebrating the end of the major riding season for the Star Family. Please stay tuned for updates, there is no registering or pre=pay, just shoot an email your coming or how many from your group so I have a head count for food, will get it worked out from there. I have already heard from Stars from Minnesota, Ohio, Canada-Eh!, Maryland, and Illinois. Look forward to seeing you all again this year. proceeds of any extra cash goes to the Star Family Foundation. Places to stay around the lake for the tipp of the mitt. silver fox resort- 231-537-4774 cabins all seasons resort 231-537-4781 cabins cedars resort 231-537-4748 cabins dolls resort 231-537-4759 strip motel nice kirsch's paradise 231-537-2322 cabins As like every year , if there are any special requests all you have to do is ask. Will tray and hook you up. I'm hearing there may be a Reggie and MJ Dawson appearance at the Tipp! Stay Tuned........... Tipp T-shirts will be available this year, portion of the proceeds going to Family Foundation and FTC. My email is starro@m33access.com |
